Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Any word of bonuses for folks laid off in 2023?

I was laid off during last year's purge and noticed that the severance package docs state that we are to receive a pro-rated MIP bonus for 2023. Anyone hear anything about if/when this is supposed to happen? Not holding my breath, but I want to make sure that I squeeze every penny I'm due out of this company.

Logged into Workday and there is a paystub for my bonus. They opted to mail a check instead of doing direct deposit for some reason. Pleasantly surprised that they didn't just give all of us discards a big fat zero.

“I talked with payroll today on a different matter and asked if she saw any pending stubs for the bonus. She said no, employees all got them, but she doesn't see anything pending for the bonus for those on severance. I think they sc--wed us.”

Payroll / HR reps at CVS are largely incompetent. I wouldn’t expect them to have a clue on this.

That has been my concern for months now. You would think they would not do that given the 1000’s they laid off. The blowback could be really ugly.

They didn’t give any bonuses to laid off folks? Shocker.

Active employees can already see their bonus paystub in workday. I don’t see one for myself but I do see my severance check being paid out this Friday. Wonder if there will be a delay in our bonus payouts…

Those that were let go in August do not have access to work day. But I normally see a pending deposit by now and that is making me nervous.

I keep thinking surely they would not do that to us. But who knows!

Where do we see our performance? I also have been checking Workday for my paystubs and do not see anything pending for Friday for MIP. Thoughts?

I have nothing that says I had a poor performance in my severance paperwork. I received a 3 rating. I do however have my coworkers age and job titles. I was the youngest of my colleagues.

Below poster: I received a 4 as well on my review and the paperwork still said poor performance. It was placed in there to prevent lawsuits on discrimination. Good luck thinking that makes you safe. Did not save many of us in August. Just saying…

I received a 4 score, I don't have any verbiage regarding poor performance.

What’s the language/quote that is used in the severance agreement? I don’t see any mention of “poor performance”. Maybe I’m missing something

Later pages of the severance agreement. The reason for being layed off was listed as poor performance. We will see in a week if the bonuses are paid and at what %

Stop fear mongering with the “poor performance” remarks. If you were let go as an MIP employee, you’ll get paid your prorated bonus on March 15

Below poster: it was one of the later pages, where it breaks down your coworkers ages. That way you could claim age discrimination. Only problem is I was the oldest on my team, so bingo I go! The HR lead is an id--t. She handled this all so poorly.

Where was it stated that poor performance was the reason for being laid off?

I was laid off in October and am still trying to get my last week of pay. I was told I would get 13 weeks of pay, but have only received 12 weeks. I started this conversation with CVS starting in Mid January when I noticed that I had only received 12 weeks of pay. CVS is telling that their payout calculation is correct, even after I have shown them that the total payout has only covered 12 weeks.

What should be my next step?

I know people who were promoted in January and laid off in October. Now the company is going to say it was poor performance that led to your layoff ? I find that hard to believe. Maybe, it has more to do with executive management cannot appropriately forecast their budgets or makes poor decisions or are too aggressive with their growth plans and the way they course correct is layoffs.

The poor performance clause was a big red flag that they are going to avoid paying out anything. Was worried that it would also be an issue when signing up for unemployment, but no problems so far. Not like we had any choice if we wanted the severance package. Meh...

I was thinking the same thing below poster. They sc--wed all of us over every which way from Sunday. My last “check” was laughable. Not sure where there calculations come from, but mentally bracing myself to get the shaft again. Poor performance was there out to avoid lawsuits. My attorney friend confirmed that one for me.

My assumption is these bonus payouts will be in alignment with current employees, which is around the middle of March. There was a previous thread that stated the 2023 payout is around 83%, so those layed off with an end date in late October should get 80% of that 83%. This is assuming those layed off will get the full 83%, which is probably a BIG assumption since CVS stated the reason for layoff was poor performance so they can ratchet that 83% number down to whatever they want.
