Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

The culture has changed so much in the last 2 years

I was fortunate enough to get a package after 20 years. The culture has changed so much in the last 2 years - and not in a good way. They are bringing in young blood to manage areas that they have no clue about. Then add the fact that Cigna alters business processes to match their needs. So, these new employees are flying blind. We’re told to just do our jobs - no questions. If there is an approach that doesn’t make sense, we’re to just roll with it - no matter what. I’ve always been of the mindset that if there is a better way, raise it. If something seems weird, raise it. If something seems like it’s costing the company more money and there is a better way, raise it. I have been gone for a few months and I receive several calls each week about how things are in such turmoil. It’s really bad that in order for them to save a dollar, they’re losing those that know this business like the back of their hands. I have never been more thankful to not have to deal with those that don’t have a clue, yet have an agenda to make a name for themselves. I’m always going to do the right thing and if it means standing alone, that’s okay, too.

And where did the pulse survey go? Haven't seen one since 22. Don't they need that data, the nps and enps scores atleast, even if they don't care about the rest of our opinions and concerns? Which is obvious.

You couldn't have said it better. The culture feels off. I was in one of the rounds of layoffs and was at the company for 12 years. There were so many positives about working there in my earlier years and even as late as Q1 2023. I feel like it's been a massive degradation pretty much since they rolled out future of work. I still have calls with my friends that weren't impacted by the layoffs and all I hear about is what a mess it is. Lots of fresh management all at once without transitioning smoothly. It feels like the higher ups are ramming a culture shift through without any warning. I used to put 10 for recommending working there on the pulse surveys. If I were answering one now, I'd probably give it a 1. That has nothing to do with my job being eliminated and everything to do with the downward spiral of the culture. Employee morale seems low unless the people I'm talking to just want to make me feel better about my situation. My bet is pulse surveys completely disappear going forward, but thats just a hunch.
