Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

Winners at Incompetence & Nepotism

It's the worst company to work for. Nepotism runs wild. Hiring friends instead of someone who has actual experience. The lies never end. HR Rep had the nerve to tell everyone they had to take a day off because they were so upset after laying people off recently. Are you kidding me? You're upset? Laying people off while the Execs stuff their pockets on their way out the door and the remaining and new one figure out how to up their bonuses. All middle management do is try to figure out how to get promotions and actually have no answers and don't even know how to use the systems and their knowledge of technology is lacking (that's being kind). The Execs must wake up in the morning and say "hmmm what change can I make today that will wreak havoc so it looks like I'm fixing things" with no regard at all to the domino effect of the changes, zero plans in place, and don't even tell the departments affected a new process . The incompetence is unbelievable. Just trying to put lipstick on this pig so a Unity merger happens and Windstream appears as a viable business. Well they better have a huge lipstick budget because there isn't enough to pretty up Windstream. Where exactly is the multi-million they got from the government? You know to bring service to rural America? Who's pocket?

I see they have a 3.2 rating on Glassdoor. How do they even pull that off? 3.2 is beyond generous. More like negative 3.2 if not lower and clearly people lie on the yearly survey because they are scared or there is some number fixing going on.

TT and friends had a plan but just did not see Elliot coming. Hostile investment takeovers is driving corporate execs crazy and leaving the original investors holding a bag of smelly excr-ment.

I am 100% convinced that TT was planning on the suit and bankruptcy to happen following the Uniti spin-off because of the debt it would erase, and the company would smell like roses for a while. Unfortunately, they did nothing to make a buy-out attractive enough.

I quit a job to go to work at a company eventually acquired by Windstream and was given a going away party with gifts after working there for only 4 years.
When I was let go from Windstream as a Senior Citizen and after 22 years of service I was given a 5 minute TEAMS call and locked out of computer within 10 minutes.

My number came up last week after 15 years I never expected this to happen. The way they let me go was ruthless.

Hopefully they still have Regions as a customer and there 1.3 million dollars a month revenue to keep them afloat.

Everyone's number will eventually come up, do what the legend did and sign your severance to look like a pole and ba--s.

No idea how the hr staff sleeps at night. Imagine choosing that role at Windstream instead of at a real ethical company. They must tell themselves elaborate stories to justify it.

Too funny....and the HR rep that had to take the day off? Wow - imagine how she will feel when her number is up. And believe me, her day will come too. You see....EVERYBODY GETS A TURN. Kinda like dying or paying taxes. If Win gets bought out, they will bring in THEIR OWN peeps - no need for overpaid/bossy peeps. HR lady (HS) - are you reading this?

Oh good grief, they’ve been manipulating that glass door rating for fifteen years. They were paying employees bonuses and extra time off to write good reviews to counter the sh-t show that Windstream is really known to be…

"Know how to use the systems and their knowledge of technology is lacking (that's being kind)."
They need help turning the laptops on and getting a VPN connection sorted out. Trust me, I listen to their whining each and every day. Beauty queens, Govt liaisons, overpaid execs.
