Build “Intel” chips to compete with TSMC - OR- Build Foundry Services that can compete with TSMC for your costumers. You cannot do both. Corporations will not use you as a fab knowing your chips will take priority and…you don’t have a very good history of keeping up OR getting chips out on time.

Intel will never be able to compete again. The King was dethroned and running nake at the bottom of the race. Come on ... King ... running faster to come back.
The amount of negativity in all the posts against intel makes me wonder if mostly laidoff people visit this page or one’s worried about losing job in next round
Intel will be back, personally working with amazingly talented folks who really care. They don’t come here and bicch
You can do both, run Foundry in a different fab so it does not compete with Intel products. Like Fab 52!
Pastor P. has demonstrated repeatedly that the NEW Intel will be bottom feeders ONLY. No more x86, no more GPUs...ONLY fabs that service the left overs ...think Ford, GM, VW and maybe high tech companies like Toyota...lol
#2 ? Good luck with crappie products.
Intel will collapse very soon as it attempts to quietly layoff its employees.
You can easily do both, as you use your own nodes and technology to build other companies products. Simple concept, where is the disconnect?
Intel’s goal is to be #2 in 6 YEARS.
Everyone that wants performance will use TSMC. Intel’s own ambitions say they will only be second best and only after half a decade of trying.
Maybe they can pick up some low performance volume.
Maybe.
In 6 years
Maybe.
What a steep fall for a once dominant player.
Intel has given up on catching up to AMD let alone Apple M series CPUs. By the time Intel gets to Lunar Lake (memory integrated in the CPU), Apple will be on the next wave of ARM architecture. If you add the poor Windows experience, I don’t see a way out for the Titanic!
Wow. Open, honest and direct communication. Nice! Too bad it’s on a layoff board.
Samsung does the same just fine.
