Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Wednesday is the new Sunday

How can we get anything done with layoffs and reorgs constantly hanging over our heads? Sunday evenings have been ruined for long, now I am sick from anxiety also on Wednesday nights. When will it stop? When we are stressed every single day just from the prospect of losing a job? All other pressure from doing the actual work is not enough?

It’s nuts. There’s not enough headcount, then there’s more administrative work each time you get a new leader. Add that to constant loss of resources and cleaning up mess. Now this week I get to explain why something that should have never been sent to my team in the first place was delayed getting to the intended recipient who doesn’t have a mailbox set up. Give me a break & just let me do my job.

Looks like the lay off dates are getting bumped up a week. Original date was 2/29, but looks like the layoffs occurred 2/22. I believe there are 2 layoff dates in March, April, and May. I will purposely avoid going in the office on Thursdays until this series of layoffs is over. My anxiety is through the roof.

Yes! Plus I think this monthly Thursday layoff approach puts employees in potential danger. I’m afraid to be in the office on Thursdays and I can’t be the only one because now it seems Thursdays have less people in person like Mondays and Fridays have been quiet.
