Thread regarding CDW layoffs

Digital Velocity Reorg

Late last year CDW announced that Digital Velocity would become its own business unit. Since that BU announcement, senior leaders haven’t clarified anything about what that change will entail.

Andy Eccles has been working on a vision statement for a few months. He’s supposed to announce high level strategy in the next month, and I’m hearing there will be a reorg within DV.

Does anyone have details about what’s being discussed for this reorg? What groups are likely to be impacted? Should we be expecting another round of layoffs in the April timeframe for positions that are being eliminated?

Hearing that announcements may be by the end of March, but no hints at what it might be. Based on how the layoffs went and what we're hearing from first and second level managers, they aren't even in the loop on the changes.

There have been rumors that DV might create its own sales org. Changes in personal contribution requirements and goals for individual revenue. Without a functional sales pipeline it's a pipe dream that anyone will hit any kind of numbers in 2024.

How many more at-bats is Eccles going to get?

Yes, there will be layoffs… and RTO is going to be wielded to spur additional attrition. Set up a saved search for CDW in LinkedIn and you’ll see the strategy they’ve developed. They’re posting 10-30 new jobs per day that conveniently have different lower/level titles and pay…. And they’re “hybrid” and linked to a hone office.
