Low level managers in EM are and always playing games with the system and the ranking (even before the 2020 changes). They continue to do so.

Everybody sees and knows that. They now play games with PIP. Most people pass these days.

Obviously middle management is aware because it was just “yesterday” that they played games themselves.

Likely senior managers are aware too because they look at the numbers. With the HC reduction only a fraction of the NSI percentage, it is obvious that people are passing the PIP.

But it is a good excuse not to give salary increases and to te--orize the population. And of course they cannot change the system because this would be an admission that the NSI in the first 2 years was simple a layoff. Another successful culture initiative.

It appears like an attempt to only fail a few folks but make it look like the pip is fair to everyone. Where is the HR folks now? Our training states if it looks wrong it is wrong. What a joke.

Announcing the percent of people that “Need Significant Improvement” prior to evaluating anyone, is simply a layoff target.

Happens everywhere every year. This is the “clever” workaround the lemmings have found to maintain what my old boss called the “complacent bottom third”. The fact that they now use NSI as a rotational assignment says everything you need to know about this company these days.

The antidote is to resign after you “pass” your fake PIP. Sooner or later this strategy will catch up to them. They’re just to blinded by ambition to notice or care.

Do these comments not show how ludicrous and deceitful the evaluation system has become?

Same happened to me. My boss actually never gave me any improvement plan, she just sent messages to the coordinator in India stating that I was fully meeting expectations of the improvement plan. Seemed like whole thing was just a technicality to meet a quota of PIP unrelated to actual need for performance improvement.
