Apparently when you take peoples jobs away as a group it's not a layoff. Who cares if it's "only 150" people and not some higher number.

Peter really made a HUGE mistake when he brought Dara onboard. Seriously what kind of leader, when having to reorg a longtime high performing department, stands up in front of them and spends time whining about how she is reflected on this website, than showing any semblance of empathy towards people who are having their careers and lives upended? Someone that does not deserve to be referred to as a leader - that's who. I understand it's all about the $. But she can at least be decent about it and at least even pretend to care about people. Learn from this. Don't be a Dara.
Nice way to cull the chaff. Move jobs to OP, cut those whose rankings are low, outsource finance to some company in Singapore.
From her perspective it's not a layoff since there will be the same number of jobs, just in OP. Oh, and you have to apply for that job, if you want to move. They may pay you much less and you have to compete with others for that job, but it's not a layoff. The only people that get to keep their jobs are the ones already there.
Just more of the typical lying and gaslighting that this company's leadership is known for...
