Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Applying for a job in Chevron

Makes any sense at this moment? You guys expect layoffs in the coming period? I lost a job in the industry last week, and am trying to figure out where to start looking. Thanks for any info/advice.

In my experience new hires are typically exempt from layoffs/re-orgs. That’s assuming your position still exists in the new structure they conjure up. Worst case you might get put in a different role.

Come on in!, the water is fine! It always is until someone drops a deuce in the pool and they have to drain it!!

No job is guaranteed, as evidenced by your recent layoff. If you are qualified for an open job, apply. The pros are greater than the cons.

The pay is decent but the company is a mess right now with layoffs more than likely to come.
