Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

Finance restructuring coming. 400 being laid off,.disguised as a move to OP

Dara Bazzanos org is laying off 400 people by moving their jobs from Bellevue to Overland Park. It is part of project Elevate, establishing the MSC Magenta service center. All of FinOps (Diana Ferara) and part of accounting and controls is being moved, with Bellevue folks either being forced to move or lose job.

They already ruined one company. Let them ruin another one.

I love how since merger whenever someone asked if jobs would be force moved to OP, Dara would literally laugh at us like we were crazy. And said jobs would only move to OP through natural attrition. So I guess since too many people (perhaps enjoy working at T-Mobile), they are therefore being punished by finance jobs being force moved to OP.

"This company has done nothing but make all of its decisions based upon maximizing people's returns on their millions and millions of shares rather than giving any hoot about any employee, their family or their lives."

That's what a company does. Every decision is done with the company's best interest in mind. Their job is literally to make the most profit they can. Sure they'll announce things here and that make it look like they're throwing their employees a bone but it'll always have an underlying benefit to the company.

I did appreciate the popularity contest last week to keep the people they liked.

Just now she's claiming it's not a layoff even though a lot of people are losing their jobs. Liar.

This is not a single SVP doing this on their own. This is a Mikey and Petey decision.

And what they're doing is looking at the data. And seeing that it costs less for a business to operate that is not in the pacific northwest, where it costs twenty five percent more to do business. This is not an emotional argument. It's one based in the numbers. I have no shock that this is based in numbers. This company has done nothing but make all of its decisions based upon maximizing people's returns on their millions and millions of shares rather than giving any hoot about any employee, their family or their lives.

As an employee that worked in an RBO. the constant pressure to move to Bellevue on a yearly basis in order to be promoted or maintain a career for that matter. This sure is ironic.

It's too bad that Bellevue employees actually voted for the tax hikes and inflation.

Cost of living and doing business is 25% less in OP than in Bellevue. This is/was inevitable.

Yes, this is their initial trial to work out the kinks before forcibly moving the rest of the worker bees from Bellevue to OP.

This makes me sick. People can’t just up and leave their lives, they have families, community, kids lives and school. Absolutely no care for employees. It’s only a matter of time before this starts happening to more departments.
