Thread regarding HCSC (Health Care Service Corporation) layoffs

Questions from future Cigna Employee

Is it true that HCSC requires employees and their children to be vaccinated and not home-schooled? Since I WFH right now I can spend a lot of the day home-schooling and taking care of the many illnesses of my beautiful children and doing the work bits in-between. I need to know if I can continue to do this when we move to HCSC.

HCSC doesn’t require anyone to be vaccinated. However during the pandemic the company offered generous stipends to those who chise to show proof of receiving COVID vaccines. HCSC is also reasonable about illness as in if you’re sick stay home. Do not put coworkers at risk. Take PTO or, if you want and you feel up to it, keep working. But don’t go to the office when you are coughing and hacking. Regarding the homeschooling question, if that is what you choose for your children, awesome. But you are expected to work a full day like most employees do. It would be impossible to be focused on your job most of the day while teaching your kids all of their lessons.

Cigna requires any WFH employee to have child care even if they work from home. The poster could get terminated for this if their manager found out.

Most Cigna employees are happily and willingly vaccinated. Whomever asked this question must be a very very small portion of anti-vaxxer currently employed at Cigna.

I'm not sure if this person is being a troll by asking a d-mb question or being genuine, but I would like to apologize on behalf of the rest of Cigna employees.

I would like to encourage Cigna employees to ask our future HCSC colleagues better questions and hope our HCSC partners would be willing to help.

Yes. We require full vaccination records of all employees, family members, and close acquaintances. It sounds like you'll be let go during the transition anyway though, so I wouldn't worry.
