Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

The word is out that it's not good to work here anymore

Great people laid off and all of a sudden the place is like a morgue. Culture has plummeted and we are even struggling to find good people to hire because the word is out that it's not good to work here anymore, so the quality of candidates we used to get has dropped.

I think that's part of the ELT plan which is to make the workplace so dire to be at that people leave on their own accord whilst open headcount just dont get filled and eventually the role is cancelled due to lack of finding good candidates.

Expected from terrible management. Well said, @1pxl+1qRsybCk.

ELT plan? You give them too much credit. While competitors are innovating and seeing revenue growth, Teradata continues to languish. Teradata hasn’t innovated in many years as Gartner (finally) recently acknowledged. Those at the tail end of their careers will stay on in hopes they hit their target date before landing on a layoff list. Those who are not in that camp and are weak or worse at their jobs remain as they are likely to not make it through the interview process elsewhere. Those who are competent and building their career should be seeking employment elsewhere. Of course, these words are obvious and logical. And yet, people stay. If you had a coworker who had been laid off and is still looking all the while eating through savings imagine if it were you? If you are single then the decision is strictly your own. If you have a family….

Good luck.

I personally know of several candidates that have withdrawn from roles they applied for after doing some due diligence on the leadership.

It's fact that the terrible leadership within Teradata are turning people away.
