I work in EP&D, been there 2.5 years. We lost 19 people-most were band 4 or above, several w/10+ years w/CIGNA. I have survived the last 2 layoffs, decided not to press my luck with layoff 3 (it will happen, people-no doubt). I spent my weekend revising my resume, contacting HR recruiters, old coworkers to see what's out there now. I'd rather give 2 weeks than get a layoff notice. Unemployment doesn't pay much in my state & I don't want to dip into savings/retirement funds to cover things. Good luck to all of you.

Happen to me I got a call on Feb 22 around 10 am from my manager informing me my role was impacted. They are going to have the offshore Accenture team handle all the business operations in supply chain. It is so unfair laying off US workers and outsourcing it to foreigners. They make Americans pay for their services yet they are taking away jobs from the US market by outsourcing it to people in Indian and people in Asia.

was your whole team laid off for offshore?

Rachel Dalloo, If you are reading, i dont want to connect directly with you to keep my anonymity. I am a Cigna employee and of Indian origin too. But I dont think what is happening now is right thing. . If you have guts take note and if you can, file a case against corruption in this organization. There is a guy named Venkitachalam Muthuraj of Tamil origin. He is making all his team members people of Tamil origin. Where is diversity? Where is equity? Where is inclusion? The person who was laid off from the west coast cost is very experienced , knowledgeable and hardworking. This is terrible

Really disheartening to see what is happening. There is a new caucus group that took charge ( Specifically people of Tamil origin) core solutions. They started kicking away the Product Owner, Scrum Master and then let go most hardworking person in the team who was working from the west cost. He was not only well experienced but also was very nice to everyone around. Corporates shouldn't be so ruthless.

I got a notice in the morning as well. I worked with the company for nearly 10 years and got laid off. I was told that it was a staff reduction situation because the segment is not performing well. Also, I was told there will be others that will get impacted.

Not a good day when someone you worked with for years, meet with often, and department relies on is suddenly laid off. This person has knowledge that no one else has and we are in the middle of implementing multiple enhancements. This one person is key and I am not sure how we move forward without them.

Good Afternoon

My name is Rachel Dalloo, I’m a reporter with Health Payer Specialist at the Financial Times. I am reaching out because I would like to get more information on the layoffs that’s happening at Cigna.

I am hoping to touch base with someone who is knowledgeable on the matter and who can provide an estimate of how many people were affected by the layoffs.

You can best reach me if you are available to talk at rdalloo@money-media.com and I am available via cell at 646-392-5066.

Thank You.
