When Exxon purchased Denbury, were you all told that Exxon wanted to retain a certain % of the employees? If so, did that hold true? Exxon stated on day 1 that they wanted to retain 90%+ of all Pioneer employees.

Good luck to everyone... I'm out of this place ASAP!
But it’s grape flavored. I need to drink it boss!
Do not trust anything they tell you. And do not drink the Kool Aid when they pass it to you.
One of the triggers is no relocation up to two years after the deal was signed.
It’s a FTC document, you can say all the other cr-p you think is true but the FTC doc is the official one. Feel free to read it.
We were told they were “mapping” everyone. That they don’t pay severance. But many, many more are getting severance than they initially indicated. An Exxon HR employee has been quoted telling a Pioneer employee that they don’t care about any DEN people—they only wanted our pipeline.
There is no choice. If you get a job offer, you take the job or quit. You don’t get to choose to be severed.
There is no relocation, at least not for 2 yrs otherwise it’s severance.
How was the relocation package?
Yea, I don’t think it’ll be “move or be done” for the majority of technical people. You really think XOM needs an additional 30 geologists and 75 engineers moving to Houston?
As people leave the positions will be filled by someone in houston and the org will eventually be down there. At two years, it will be move or be done.
And no, we didn’t have the option to decline and still get severance. The offers by and large were fair, which they had to be or that in and of itself could trigger a severance claim. Now, what happens when the 2year clock runs out is anyone’s guess.
I don’t recall if a specific % was mentioned but we were told they wanted the vast majority. Apparently “vast majority” means most people except accounting, hr, it, techs, petrophysicists, and some former Exxon employees.
Additionally, For those that received an offer, were you able to decline the offer and still retain your severance? Thus being put into a transition role?
