Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Remember: BAE & Rolls Royce love to hire ex DXCers

I've a few former DXC/FDS/CSC, HPE & EDS ex-colleagues who have moved in the last year from the floating raft of driftwood that is DXC (because let's face it, a ship would imply it had some direction) and gone onto work for the customer on BAE and Rolls Royce.

Having spoken with people on both sides of the fence, they're much happier where they are now, so take a look if you still want out.

I got assimilated into CSC some 25 years ago, when BAE Systems merged with Marconi Electronic Systems (MES).

The early years with CSC were OK, but technically things became restricted as standard solutions were increasingly imposed; ones that didn't always fit well with the BAES business model, but suited CSC. Things became much worse when CSC morphed into DXC.

From a BAES perspective the argument I was always given was that letting CSC manage the IT allowed them to concentrate on their core business objectives, and ultimately when things had been rationalised and streamlined, they could always take the service back in-house.

Well for me that time came quite some time ago, and like the OP recommends, and sticking with a naval metaphor, I'd equally encourage others to jump ship.
