Does anyone know the protocol of folks displaced while on PTO? Does your manager wait until you come back from PTO to lay you off, or do they just contact you while on pto and let you know?

Hey @1xo
maybe YOU should think before you chime in.
In this case "cancelling PTO" doesn't mean "stop your vacation and go back to work"
It's a Workday entry. It means "don't spend PTO when you can get paid out for it since you're being displaced"
It's a crumb, but it's something.
I was on a business trip and got notified and returned home
We had a team member laid off during family leave, PTO/leave does not delay anything
As stated, THAT'S THE EMPLOYEE'S CHOICE. Employee might have purchased airline tickets and hotel stay or be on a cruise and doesn't want to lose all the $$$ spent (i.e., wants to finish PTO). Seriously, how could you not be aware of this possibility?
And not all 60-day notices are completely non-working. My team just had 30 working and 30 non-working. Some are all working.
Maybe think before you chime in w/rebuttal.
Worked for a different (not WFC) financial services firm years back and got an email from boss that I needed to be on a phone call in the middle of a 3 week vacation. Was allowed to continue vacation and then had to go back and serve WORKING 60 day notice before severance paid.
you tell the employee to cancel PTO so they will get paid out for unused PTO. Once you give notice, it's "nonworking" so why would you use PTO days for something where you're already getting paid to do nothing?
Maybe you guys know each other, lol.
You know there is an entire policy in the policy library that spells this out, right? Pretty sure anyone can read it...
Why would the employee need to cancel PTO? Employee can still take PTO during 60-day period, just might choose to have it paid out instead (his/her choice).
Yes, the notification of layoff stinks, but you shouldn't make employee give up PTO if they still want to take it during notice period.
I had to do this a couple years back. Called employee in the am since they were on PTO. Told them to cancel PTO that day since it was day 1 of the 60 day non-working period.
They'll just call you. I've had to do it, and yes, it Fing su-ks.
PTO? Pfft.
Wells would go to a cemetery to dig up recently passed employees to let them know they're laid off.
My coward manager did it as soon as I went in PTO last year.
manager is required to call you on PTO or LOA
They will contact you via phone if you are on any leave. WF knows it can lay anyone off without fear of a lawsuit, as one doesn't have a great chance of winning, and they know 99% of people will just take the severance.
You are safe, that is why i try to take as many Tuesdays as possible off.
I'm assuming it won't matter. You will still get a phone call/communication and it won't matter if it's not acknowledged. They will still cut off your access...
Calls will happen while on PTO. This company no longer has a heart.
There are known reports of people getting the call while on bereavement leave or after the 12 week protection of maternity. They don’t care.
PTO won’t matter
You will get a phone call. Someone on my team was on PTO when displaced, it doesn’t give you any protections or delays.
