Thread regarding USAA layoffs

When your ersatz military culture gets weird

Sure we have an organizational hierarchy but the obsession with subordination is creepy and gross, doubly so when it's a male manager and female employee.
Seems like a pretext for those who never earned that title to play "officer" in a Full Metal Jacket fantasy of what the military is.

Executive Leader uses tazing employees analogy regarding getting us to submit to their changes.

Our department went through a major reorganization this past year and it’s been nothing but threats and abusive behavior from management. This person actually used an analogy as to what it feels like to be tazed..saying the first moments are the most painful and the more you submit and stop resisting the more he will let go of the taser. There is so much more. They went on to threaten anyone who challenged their background and experience by putting them on a plane to San Antonio and sitting them down in his office. For another hour he went on to say that we the staff are all starting at a zero from here on in and nobody has as much experience as he does.

Great. Now Ethics will probably make sure this leader gets an extra off cycle raise.

It's been reported to Ethics.

This dude tested the waters and got away with it. Wayne probably gave him a spot bonus and told him to keep up the good beatdowns. Look for some other department execs to start doing the same in a rally called, "Make pain great again. Do it for Wayne."

I suspect that this megalomaniac is probably from the claims department. Somewhere an old Bob Davis is shaking his crooked cane and saying "Dayum! Wish I thought of that!"

This is a prime example of an issue that should be reported to the board members. Wayne and his EC have enabled this type of “lead by fear or threat” culture. Things will only get worse before they get better. Please email the board on the specific details of this interaction. It takes a leap of faith but know that they do listen and will demand answers from the EC. HR and Ethics will not help you on this. Julie and her team will tell you and your co workers that you are the problem. It is now a culture of employee vs EMG. We need to remind these bad apples that employees still have power and a voice.

You should share who this is so it's brought to light

What a jerk see the culture is continuing to breakdown. Glad I left in 2022. No matter how I looked at it, I couldn’t imagine how it could improve. I can see it now the Christmas gift is going to be a behavior modification collar. Works for pets, should work for employees too
