So sorry to hear about your layoff. Hoping you can find a new job to support yourself (and family, if applicable) very soon.
8am meeting with my mgr and sr mgr. I’m in IT and it was me and another person on a different team that were part of the layoff.
What ended up happening to the ppl with 8am meetings
I also thought it was off pay weeks but I heard recently that it is the Thursday following the previous lay-offs 30 days. So 1/18 ended the 30 day on 2/17 and have officially started their severance.
"Do you usually start work at 8 am ? Seems a little early for a 1x1 . Sorry , i sincerely hope you are safe."
I start at 8am but never gave meeting the first thing to start the date. Literally first time ever.
I just had 1:1 with my leader today. They just scheduled another one for tomorrow morning. This feels abusive.
Another sleepless night.
Good luck everyone.
Also, who’s hiring?
“I haven't had a 1:1 with my manager in a month. Just got a random 1:1 for 8am tomorrow”

Stay hopeful, it may just be a normal 1:1. Think positive!

Wishing you all the best. Hopefully, you can use the severance while taking a break to refocus. There is life outside of Cigna - and it’s amazing that they preach work/life balance, but make it incredibly hard to achieve.

Enjoy the severance and use it to improve on your employment skills for the next job.

I’m in IT does anyone have any new updates about tomorrow? -Sincerely, A stressed employee
There’s supposed to be a restructuring announcement impacting MA this week. I assume that means today or tomorrow.
A profit can still be turned with some MA cuts. Don’t be so naive. “Head count neutral” reeks of bullsh-t to me.
I wish it was MA. I want a break and severance. Alas, I think MA will have to remain headcount neutral. A profit still has to be turned in 2024 and MA business can’t be completed overseas like it can in other units.
What area within MA were you told would be let go right before the sale?
“The majority of layoffs will be within IT and 2/22 is the day.”
How are the decisions on who to cut being made?
To the people making comments about 10% of the company cutting and "everyone" being affected, you are misinformed. The majority of layoffs will be within IT and 2/22 is the day. Please know none of this is because of your doing if you are one of the ones laid off and know it does always work out in the end. On to bigger and better things at another company, but regardless of that, know that your fellow coworkers appreciate you and corporate greed can never take away the heart and soul you put in all these years.
most of those jobs that are supposedly going to India is evernorth
Considering HCSC already offers Medicare and some of our Medicare departments are heavily staffed versus workload I’d venture to say that MA should worry. Time and time again Cigna has told us there would be no layoffs, we aren’t selling, we are going into 2024 in good position to add to our business followed by endless layoffs and news of the sale. If you still believe Cigna at this point- my condolences.
I was advised the opposite, most MA staff are SAFE / insulated from layoffs pending the sale. I've heard we need to remain "head count netrual" many times. MA had mass. Layoffs already in 2023.
I was informed by a supervisor that most of MA will be let go before the sale. Can’t see how true that is but they advised us to look for jobs elsewhere
Can’t say too much, but can say IT represents the bulk of layoffs. Headcount is being reduced to “make room” for those positions to be moved to Hyderabad India. It isn’t going to be pretty, so best of luck and if you are laid off don’t think it was a failure on your part. You did nothing wrong and shouldn’t have to lose your job just so the company can save $50-100k by paying someone else $30k a year.
I assume at least some of MA based on the acquisition FAQs and town hall that we had. But I wonder if most of MA would be safe since that’s what HCSC purchased, I also assume that any MA being let go would have been identified in the last couple weeks.
Anyone know of anything for CPQ?
I thought they didn't lay off on pay day weeks?
Sounds like 2/22 is going to be an ugly day. Management also seems to have disappeared this week - but then again they are always out of pocket lately.
Layoffs all over the company is what I’ve heard , No specific departments are being targeted.
Interesting that they’re switching it up to a pay week. I guess they’ve figured that everyone expects the off weeks now, so they’re changing it up.
Get the popcorn ready, here we go AGAIN!
Good Luck Everyone
Cuts will impact every group, I suspect.
They will probably cull 10% over the next few months.
CaSe MaNaGeMeNt ... sorry I just had to ;-)
Can someone spill the beans on which departments? So far only IT has confirmed.
Yes. Thursday 2/22. Buckle up and good luck.
