With the news of recent layoffs, do we anticipate that there will be a respite for at least a little while, or should we expect more in the next few weeks?

The package for bank employees and affiliates (like HR, finance) supporting the bank is a year salary + 60 days notice (so another 2 months pay). So if you can, wait (or ask haha) to get laid off. Just don’t do anything against policies or performance for HR to find a way to not pay you.
I can’t find the enterprise severance policy (but’s somewhere out there) but that is based on a calculation of years of service and salary from what I have been told, but I have not seen it.
I’m sorry to those that were impacted, I wish you all the best in finding a new job quickly.
If anyone reading this was impacted, do you feel comfortable sharing what your severance package is? (# of weeks and how it was determined)
I am aware of the standard package but I was just curious if that’s what you received. Best of luck in your search.
I know for sure another round is in Q3 for the bank.
The company can only process so many people per layoff. Remember, they offer impacted people services to assist with resume building, etc. So notification comes in waves.
They try not to overlap the layoff periods as much as possible (for admin and hr purposes) If the layoff was a formal WARN and filed with the state, they have to wait for to expire before enacting another one, but they usually have their RID exercises and know who will be next

The sad truth is you should never be comfortable working at USAA. Do yourself a favor and start applying out ASAP even if you don’t think you’ll be affected.

There will be at least 2 more rounds of layoffs before the year ends. If I had to guess, early summer and early fall. If you’re in Bank AML, I would start applying out.
