Thread regarding USAA layoffs

Don't be so silly to go to HR!

Don't go to HR or employee relationship to make complaints anymore. Any individual who receives the pay check from USAA won't do anything in your favor.
If you have a strong case, report wrongdoings of your boss directly to state and federal agencies. They are supposed to conduct independent investigations. If USAA fires you, it is retaliation.

I would trust Ethics more if they actually conducted the investigations. Apparently they punt them to HR-Er to discuss. Then they tell your manager that you complained. And then the HR team not only “investigates” your ethics complaint, but they also sit with your manager to fire you. Conflict maybe? The End.

If you want to keep uour job, DO NOT report anything to HR! Report it to a state or federal agency, keep a paper trail of everything! Also, do not use the USAA WiFi to check this site or any other site that speaks negatively on the company, they are now starting to track it. I turn my WiFi off when in office and don’t turn it back on until I’m home.

Let’s be honest here. USAA is filled with poor performers. Mainly because HR makes it impossible to get rid of poor performers at the company and just let them move around avoiding the problem. And SO many people abuse the ER process at USAA. I have seen peers file ER issues on their manager multiple times simply because the manager gave them honest feedback (which rarely happens at USAA) in their reviews and called them out for poor performance. We all knew they were a C player at best. So did their manager, and was honestly coaching them and trying to help them get better. So instead of listening, my peer filed an ER issue and I had to be interviewed. Nothing came of it I think (because there was nothing to investigate) but poor performers abuse the system to slow down the actual performance management process. It’s ridiculous that HR tolerates it and let’s people report BS like that.

If you feel you are discriminated by your manager because of your race, color, religion, s-x, national origin, age (40 or older), disability or genetic information, you should file a charge against USAA with Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. The charge can be completed online https://publicportal.eeoc.gov/Portal/Login.aspx.

HR, ER, and Ethics are not your friend. The fastest way to end your nightmare on Wayne’s Titanic, is to take your grievance to anyone in HR/ER/Ethics. Their soul purpose is to protect Wayne and his band of mindless yesmen.
