Accredo employee here. They have been making us work 5+ hours of OT the past two months with no end in sight and the patients and providers are becoming much more abusive. I have never seen it this bad and I go home most days crying.

OP here again on my 15-minute break. While I think the one poster could have been more cordial about being upset over the OT and not calling out other posters, I would like the salaried Cigna and other subsidiary employees to understand the perspective of someone who works in the customer service facing role at Accredo. Some of us are educated with graduate degrees who are working these jobs because it is only slightly better than working as a barista at Starbucks, and we already don't get paid enough to compensate for the fact we are so micromanaged and also deal with abuse that no human should have to deal with. Managers are lazy and they just assign stuff the RPH would normally do to us because we are the lower end of the totem pole here.
Again, please understand the perspective we have here, and to the person who called another a vulgar name, you aren't helping a bad situation by getting angry at fellow colleagues.
Yup, salaried employee here and I work around 55 hours and def don’t get time and a half for the extra 15 hours! 45 hours and getting paid extra for giving over 40 seems like a dream. That said I wouldn’t wanna do customer service so if that’s what the OP’s job is I’m sorry OP!
You know there's lots of us on salary working 50-60 hours a week not getting OT pay. Years back, when I was hourly (at an entry-level rate) working for another company, I made more than I do now because I showed up early, worked late, and always made excuses to work more.
On the other hand, if you're in a customer-facing role getting bitched at all day, I think I'd rather be dr-g out in the street and shot than deal with that all day every day - so, I totally feel you there. Your sanity is worth more than extra money.
Oh yes, the 5 hours of OT of time and a half pay of $23/hour are sure worth the abuse and gaslighting. Get the heck out of here with your nonsense person who posted that like it was something to thank the gods for...a--hole.
5+ hours of overtime so that puts you at 45 hrs/week? And getting paid time and a half for the additional 5 hours?
To the person that said about the list of people laid off. I might be mistaken but it sounds like OP might be in a CC facing role, and if anything, that department is a constant turnover so them laying off is unlikely. To the OP, I am so sorry that this is happening and you don't deserve additional abuse from people desperate to get their rx on top of already ridiculous managers who have bloated salaries and pretty much do nothing but attend meetings. From what I understand it may not get better at Accredo for a while, so you might want to put that resume out there unless the WFH aspect is such a big factor that trumps a possible higher wage.
I'm sorry and know this won't help but everyone I talk to at Accredo is miserable as well. Management treats us like pawns. I've even heard management say "we're just getting rid of the dead weight". There are a decent number that continually hopes to be on the list of people laid off.
It's a competitive market out there but we all deserve better!
I am so sorry. Customer facing jobs here su-k because at the end of the day, we don’t make money if we pay out everything everyone needs for healthcare. It isn’t going to get better anytime soon.
Please set aside a few hours a weekend to apply for something else. It will be hard but worth it once you find something less toxic.
In the meantime use that EAP and get some mental health visits in too. Take care of yourself. You are way more valuable than Cigna.
