Retention Bonus

Pioneer here, when you were offered a job at XOM, was there a retention bonus attached to the offer or any type of incentive?

XOM was lucky our '23 bonus was so high and split to pay half in Dec and half in early March and the pro-rated '24 bonus paying May 1st upon conversion or severance. That even spacing worked as a retention bonus without having to give us more. Then our new salaries had to at least include all that bonus as the new base. All the "extra" money every couple months has felt good, but it's not actually extra, XOM didn't have to decide to contribute any of that themselves, just spaced out what we had already coming to us.

No, there is no retention bonus. Other than having to stick around until early March to get the second half of our 2023 bonus and having to stick around until late April to get the prorated bonus for the first four months of 2024. As of May 1, we will be on the XOM payroll, and our new salaries include the bonus.
