Forcing Hybrid Now - Alternative to Layoffs

Hybrid model now being enforced. Some have already gone in with little notice. Some folks showed a commute of 50 or under miles would take couple of hours with traffic in their specific area. HR said no.

So inevitably, some folks will have to leave. Costs them nothing vs RIF. Dirty ba----ds.

@@3idb+1rW5aW6F What free lunch? We have no cafe, food, vending machines. We have to bring our food along with everything else and then haul it all back home again when we leave. The locations that are not Prime PulsePoint locations su-k!!! Wanting someone that was hired 100% remote and negotiated salary/comp based on that to now drive 90+ minutes and 47 miles one way into an office where we have no co-workers located is just a sign of insanity.

It is bad when you consider I was hired long before covid as a 100% remote employee and took this job because of that. Not one person that is in my department even lives in this state. Explain that collaboration!
My 90 minute commute 1 day per week for something I NEVER signed up for is stupid.

You can swipe in, take the free lunch, then leave and go home to work. All they want is the swipe. Apparently they are getting a tax incentive to get bodies into the office. Local cities want it to stimulate the local businesses which took a hit during Covid. Plus toll and commuter fare $$ they lost.

But what if you are forced to make up the drive time like some of us hybrid workers that are going in partial days? If the commute grows to 90 minutes to 2 hours, we are expected to work twelve-hour days? I agree. This is just a method to try to get employees to quit or retire early so the company doesn't have to pay supplemental.

Some teams allow commuting time during business hours. So you shave off your commute during your office hours. Make it make sense.

In a hybrid model you just have to go one day per week on an average, which isn't too bad compared to other companies that enforce 3 days in a week.

When I go into the office it's eerily empty including the parking lot. There's no reason for me to be there. It's almost a safety concern b/c if I slip and fall or something like that, there is not a person in sight to help.
