Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Shareholder voting vs DEI reporting. Proposal #8 is interesting.

There is a section that says: “The board of directors recommends that you vote AGAINST proposals 5-10.”

Beneath that is proposal 8.
Proposal 8: Stockholder proposal requesting to report to shareholders on risks created by the company’s diversity, equity and inclusion efforts.

The fact that the board is concerned that people may vote on actual reporting over the risks of DEI, is worrisome. I want to know all of the risks the company faces, DEI or not. This willingness to NOT want to report over it tells me there’s something to hide. If there’s nothing to hide, then why not divulge it.

Vote for Prop 8. Good bad or indifferent, ask for results and numbers. Is it a risk or not?
Have we seen an increase in risk or not. Its a reasonable simple ask since my money is in C stock…..although it may not have an easy comfortable answer.

Asked and answered. The published management response is literally the report requested in this resolution. Whoop de doo.

I guess the ole “hire DEI candidates even if they are not skilled regardless of risk. We’ll train them and mitigate the risk as we go”, has not been well received which I can understand. It does go against the mantra of “any risk is too much”.

Let us be honest. There will be no 42 B payout.

Citi needs to determine what they want to do: Potentially pay out upwards of 42 billion or get rid of DEI completely.

Agree the veil of protection is wearing away, but not how it is described in the prior comment. There are unskilled folks of all types. Heck, I work with a C15 Director that acts more like a strong C13 individual contributor. When engaged in a technical subject matter conversation, becomes flustered, frustrated, and resorts to condescending comments. Go figure.

It seems the layoffs have created a bit of shock and awe for those who felt perpetually entitled.

If there was this push…wink\wink….nudge\nudge…..to hire on DEI candidates regardless if they were qualified or not, then whoever gave the directive (MD\CEO\whoever) assumes the responsibility of all the risk.

If there was no problem, then you’d think that there’d be no issue revealing any reports. The fact that they advise you to vote against such a proposal, tells me there’s something to hide. Something embarrassing they don’t want to reveal.

I’ll be voting FOR proposal #8.

Page 131 is beautiful. I love the part that states that a company lost a $25 million dollar law suit for discrimination against a white employee.
