I was part of the digital sales org and am still reeling from this, especially considiering I moved my family for this job. I've heard from other coworkers that they were laid off too but I'm not sure how many in total. Is this the f5 way?? Are sales employees just expendable in their eyes??

More people will be laid off. As per Kara's email, breaching the RTO policy will result in terminations. This is the next stage of the "human first" BS policies. Executives without records of successfully delivering tech products to the market try to lecture how to work collaboratively and create successful products.
“We're expecting a lot of terms and job abandonment soon.....”
So, no layoffs then? Job abandonment - definitely. Support is understaffed, overworked. And certainly if there’s a case-by-case basis for termination due to job performance, that’ll happen. Are they going to sack the whole department due to low RTO? Sure… whatever makes you happy. ;)
Worry about yourself. To have fellow F5ers seemingly hoping other departments get hit with layoffs says more about you than anything. All departments have their own problems. Fix your own department’s issues before throwing stones at others. Remember, Support doesn’t design or develop the software or the hardware, or oversell its capabilities. They are literally fixing other departments’ problems.
“You will be singing a different tune…”
You’ll be manning the phones and responding to customer complaints then. Services is understaffed as is. If they layoff 10% or more, they will put non-Services staff to work. RTO numbers are low. But when the majority of your collaboration is with customers not in the same office, that really doesn’t make sense, does it? Good luck with your phone time!
"No major layoffs coming to Services soon, or ever. It’s the department with the most job security at F5."
You will be singing a different tune when the return-to-work policy is heavily enforced next quarter with the threat of termination. Most of the employees in Services are based out of a support center, and their attendance numbers are very low. We're expecting a lot of terms and job abandonment soon.....
“Supposedly services dept is next at least according to my director. poor performance, over budget, terrible RTO numbers. I'll keep an eye out.”
Love to see you and your director deal with angry customers everyday. Or work to get our products functioning correctly. Our execs know what Services does and how critical they are with the direct, everyday, contact they have with our customers. No major layoffs coming to Services soon, or ever. It’s the department with the most job security at F5.
This commented "layoff" was not a layoff. Terminations based on performance are not layoffs.
Def worried I'm on a short list of to-layoff folks. Dreading it. It's why I watch this space haha
is it true that all DS employees that were let go specifically were white? is that sort of targetting legal?
Any idea how many were affected on your team?

Job report out today, best jobs market of all time. Wages highest of all time. White house says any company not paying all time high salaries is a pure greed situation.
FLD fits right in there.
Seems to be stealth layoffs again, but nothing like the big 623 let go last year. It's all cost. You will be replaced with a lower-price, likely younger, no family option that costs F5 less overhead. When F5 has no inspired innovation and Palo Alto is eating F5's lunch, then people have to go to show that the market that the bottom line is still profitable. If you can't increase revenue all that much, then cut costs and reduce head count to make up for it.
There are five new digital sales BDR roles posted today…..
