Friday is my last day. I took a 5k pay cut to leave and avoid the inevitable. I managed to use all of the 2024 flex days and most of my sick days. Best of luck to everyone. I have a bad feeling for April 17-18.

CDW has been using a staff-aug strategy for quite some time. Using contractors heavily in the backbone groups has been around for 5-10 years. They do it because they are disposable and can be immediately dropped when needed. It's infuriating to hear how raises/pay can't change too much yet we spend millions of dollars on contractors - both locally and globally - because they want the human liquidity based on sales results. This is what obsession on a stock price and wall street will always do. It's such a shame.
Contractors are easier to fire with no notice and no severance.
I did notice the contractor thing . I’m seeing part timers now too. Has that always been a thing ?
Managers are acting strange again. The same as last year. Very disengaged. It is time to go. No one can work under these conditions of uncertainty. They are now hiring large groups of contractors. CDW is an awful company.
Crossing fingers for a quiet Friday the 5th
It has been awfully quiet that's for sure.
Another wave of tech layoffs started this week - with many of the employers being CDW suppliers or partners.

April 20th is the day they laid off people last year - that was a Thursday.
Layoffs generally happen on Fridays for safety reasons. However, those dates do fall about 2 weeks prior to Q1 earnings release. I would agree that if it happens, that’s probably the week for it.
Good luck to you! Hope you feel more valued at your new role.
Also can you elaborate on what you feel for the 17th , 18th?
