Applying for jobs within... However letters

So.. applying for jobs in this company while your an active employee is nearly impossible to get an interview/ job. Those ' however' emails as I call them.. thanks for applying... However..

But did you know if you get RiF'ed and apply as such you go into a pool outside the normal application process. And get interviews and get job offers..

Somethings wrong with this picture ..

Pretty simple. If they let you go once they will do it again. Do not apply for those other internal roles because they are either too far gone to save or ELV needs a placeholder until they find who they want and will cut you loose again.

Do you really want to help someone who was willing to put you on the street.

This is unfortunate as I am looking for a different position. I’m miserable in my current role only because of my manager. She is terrible, in fact toxic and the worst manager I’ve ever worked for. I’ve been applying outside f the company as well. Hoping something comes up soon,

I don’t find this to be true. I was part of the September RIF and applied for over a dozen jobs for which I qualified and only got two recruiter screens. Those two ended after that. Unless you select otherwise, there’s an option for former employee status and those apps have their own bucket.

You are not alone. They typically have somebody in mind for the position before it is even posted. Their hand can be forced to look at riffed employees to save the company from having to pay supplemental compensation. I applied for various positions requesting my skills over a three-year period and never got an interview for any of the positions even though I reached out to both the HR rep and the hiring manager directly.
