Would you leave MA org for a different company if it was a lateral move?

No, it's really all the same. I'd leave for a higher position and base pay, which I did. But lateral to lateral outside of the company no, within maybe if it was the same band level and you're wanting to shore up a new skull set. Been around awhile and worked for major MA carriers, it's all the same. Focusing on moving up, not over.

I’m so confused by these responses. It sounds like they are asking if they should LEAVE MA and go to a different company altogether?

I currently work for MA and spent the better part of last year trying to get out. I had a few job offers but none of them were worth taking. They were absolutely lateral moves but I would have been losing PTO as I’ve worked here a lengthy amount of time and get a generous PTO package. I think it’s really one of those you have to consider from a lot of different angles. I may have been willing to move regardless of the PTO, if it was doing a job I was more passionate about. I may have even taken a paycut! Anything is worth considering, but only you know your specific circumstances.

Top performer here and it’s more difficult than anticipated. Don’t wait too long. Not a bad idea to jump to Medicare.

I think it depends on your situation. I’m staying put for personal reasons since I can keep my salary and remote position until at least Q1 of next year. That’s vital to me personally at this time, and don’t have it in me to job hunt and do a million interviews just to get ghosted at the end in this job market right now. That being said, it wouldn’t hurt to at least explore what’s out there.

I’ve debated the same question lately. I am on the MA side so I will be moving over to HCSC. This point in time for me I’m going to stand back and watch the ship sink and everyone jump ship. At least I won’t have anyone breathing over my neck. All the leaders are stressed, overworked, and don’t have time to coach anyone. As long as I’m not the bottom of the barrel I can just coast along.

They may be about to shut down commercial employees from transferring to MA.

If you are a Cigna Commercial / Express Scripts employee it might be worth looking into doing a lateral move into Medicare team. HCSC doesn't seem too bad compared to Cigna. If you transition, you pretty much are signing up to leave Cigna in less than a year.

Look at HCSC benefits and weigh your options.
