Hi, this forum is always helpful and I appreciate everyone here. This question will be limited to few. Upon being RIF'ed, on an anniversary year, 40. I have heard you are eligible for a retirement gift selection. Does anyone know how long after your RIF'ed does it take, do you have to call anyone? TiA.

I just took my gift and fair warning skip the jewelry it’s cr8p. Agree with above poster. The 20+yr selection was mediocre at best
I'm interested in what the gifts are at that level! I was pretty unimpressed with the 20 year selection. I picked a pair of nice silver earrings, but they're not exactly spectacular.
I was RIFd in October and got the max SUB payment but that is a joke since it's capped at 26 weeks no matter how many years you had with the company. 26 doesn't seem like much after 20 years.
Was told by HR that sometimes it happens at the beginning and sometimes it's near the end of severance. They were not aware of any rhyme or reason for it.
Congratulations on getting to your 40th year. Sorry, that you were RIF'd. I have heard some were able to get their packet sooner, allowing them to pick their gift. I would reach out to your current manager or HR to verify.
The gift was getting out of the company with the max supplemental pay. :)
