Account Director Cuts

I’ve heard whispers about seasoned account directors being let go last Friday.

Well, you them probably have to get a real skill to lower chances of being laid off. Become a tech or engineer instead

Yes, some IC account managers and account directors were let go from the Enterprise segment. Not widespread cuts though, haven't seen the numbers or exact percentage

This org wasn’t hit hard by the November RIF so I wasn’t surprised to see some trimming of the fat.

As a recent new hire I was surprised how many account directors are in the call for same customer way to much overhead costs. They added absolutely nothing on the calls as well so not surprised Lumen caught up to this wasteful cost

Account Director is an IC sales role. Why is everyone talking about leadership?

Rotten Apples gets it. By merging with CenturyLink, Level3 saved themselves from bankruptcy and brought their losing strategies, failed tools and systems with them, and somehow managed to gain control of the operations for the combined company.

With that power all they’ve accomplished is the selling off of assets and the disruption of automations, and actual investments to the national business and it’s customer base.

Non-bargained for CTL employees were ruthlessly held back in their careers and basically dared to leave. Union employees were kept happy enough to keep a contract in place, because you can’t sell that business off to Apollo without one.

Once Storey got his golden parachute preserved and set us up to ki-l the dividend they brought in KJ to distract us all and fall on the sword for Level3’s continued failings. She was happy to do it as long she got to peddle her DEI, line her friend’s pockets, and set her up for a career change into some future flavor of identity-politicking.

The Directors at Lumen are worthless. They are all out for themselves and have ruined promising careers. They do whatever it takes to make themselves look valuable and are worthless and not very sharp. Just look around and ask yourself what is failing. Um, its called leadership! There is none!

Lumen is cutting off layers of useless icing from the very sour cake because Level3 brought with it countless Managers, Sr Managers, Directors, Sr Directors, VP of this, VP of that, and many of these people have no skills in those types of positions and all they do is create layers in the org chart which are two to ten reports. The HR silo itself has like 900 people in it. Lumen has also gone full woke DEI, so if you don't fit that sour cake mold you will be booted. Lumen stock is taking a hit in concert with this RIF and likely will not recover. Those who survive the RIF should think about moving on because the RIFs are not over. Kate was brought in to kick the debt can down the road, carve & divest, and eventually sell off the company. And do not be fooled, to pay for Dare to Lead garbage and another rebranding the company had to pay for all that using RIFs.
