If things weren't as bad as they are here, I wouldn't have gotten off my a-s and started searching for a new job. Starting next week, I'll be out of here with a nice pay raise. Nothing spectacular, but still. Not to mention, escaping this toxic cesspool is enough of a reward in itself.

At first, the Hitachi layoff was so emotionally difficult to endure but, like other comments here state, it was a true blessing. I gave most of my career to HV, did really good work and lead a group of individuals second to none. Am very grateful for the “good” years. However, the last 10 have been toxic, multiple management changes, multiple layoffs, and it became a work environment that caused many such emotional distress. No one deserves to work in that culture.
I am truly grateful for being laid off from Hitachi after dedicating many years to the company. The constant reshuffling of upper management has led to repeated mistakes, and it's time for my former colleagues to jump ship. I wish them all the best and urge them to consider their future carefully. It's time to seek opportunities that value hard work and dedication, and where they can contribute to a company that rewards their efforts."
