So - from upper leadership, they have identified the next rounds of layoffs (hearing hardware folks - not sure what this means atm). They will be notified in April 2024 and will be exited in May 2024. This will not be like the last time where they get a 3 month severance. Wishing everyone well during this downturn of events. I know...it just su-ks!

We lost 5 ppl in a team of 15. All 5 resources were contractors. I know many other contractors from other teams within IT were laid off by end of May
So who had a horrible experience with centene and has left? I contacted a lawyer about the hostile work environment, constant threats to job security and much more- who wants to be a part of a class action lawsuit?
Heard things were out on hold due to the state audit. Was told to be ready for the coming weeks and next quarter.
This was just a joke to scare people?
No different now than when MFN ran this horse & pony show. He laid off 1000 plus every year. He just didn't lay you off. Maybe you are new to this company or maybe luck of the draw before. Have your resumes ready regardless, as the job market for health insurance is not great at the moment.
If this comment is true “ Just got notification for next week.”
The next few weeks are going to su-k.
Is there any update on who is getting hit?
Join - AMBETTER SU-KS facebook page or a local page for any/all Centene insurance. Social media works and keep the bad press going.
Centene is ranked No. 25 on the Fortune 500 list. There is only one way to bring them down and this is thru their money - actually it's pretty easy to do. 1 - understand which elected officials are supporting Centene and their PAC (who's getting handouts from them). 2 - if you know anyone using Centene Products, get them to complain as much as possible - stick to the state driven surveys and nothing Centene offers you (these surveys from the inside actually go nowhere and it only creates mindless work for people). 3 - contact the Insurance Consumer Hotline: 800-726-7390.
If Centene keeps getting hit, like it did in 2023, they will have to stop their behavior. It's uncontrollable at this point. They are laying off because they never had a real understand of the budget and they are WAY OFF! it's crazy how way off they are in BTS, Technology, and Tech
Can’t say anything more concrete but my leader (above VP) indicated layoffs had been delayed since December and seem to keep getting delayed (now targeting April). Had to get past Q1 and 3+9 AOP lock down to understand what cutting was necessary.
I still see it as a trickle vs large scale event.
To who posted: Just got notification for next week.
Meaning all the cuts are happening next week or starting next week?
I don't know if anyone is in the STL office anymore but every once in a while I see the leaders from out of town leaving. They always seem to so happy. You'd think this would be harder for them! The other day I saw our chiefs comms officer leaving and she was yelling at someone on her team. It was not a good look for the CenTeam. Hopefully they reported her to HR! Maybe cuts are coming from her area and she is building cases on them. She just got here! Good luck everyone, it seems like we will all need it.
How do you all know this? Don’t post things for shock value or speculation if you don’t have concrete proof. Life is hard enough.
Just got notification for next week.
Those affected will be notified in the coming days based on what I’m hearing. I’m also hearing that all RVPs will be on their way out…
Layoffs starts next week
They need to expand from BTS RIFs and move into the new COO org as well. The VCO/ETO in particular. It’s great to have an enterprise vision but you cannot design for or manage what you do not understand.
Drew , Sarah, Alice chen, Tanya, just talking heads getting rich . New leadership is needed
Good luck. I just got a job after being laid off by Centene in December. It is a brutal job market out there. I applied for thousands of jobs and went through rounds and rounds of interviews and finally landed a job. It was one of the worst experiences of my life.
Any clue when this is going down? Next week?
And yet the system is slower than it's ever been and far more unstable. Sounds like a good decision to me. sarcasm
I asked a friend on IT and she told me that “hardware” is TSS (technical support services) and LC (logistics center).
TSS are the techs in the office.
LC are contractors on three locations (FL, MO, and CA)
Sounds like BTS. They have been trying to reign in technology spending, which has been left unchecked under prior leadership. The gravy train is ending 😭
Heard people under multiple directors on BTS will be included as well
My experience with layoffs is, that once started they continue and the packages continues getting worse.
What is hardware folks?
I will keep asking around. As soon as I know, I'll post again.
Do you know which lines of business or divisions of corporate shared services will be affected?
