Santa Rosa being shutdown

Everything moving to Rochester (which means it’s dead).

About 130 people. But recently merged with a Rochester site, maybe to dilute the impact. Does custom engineering to make products like https://www.l3harris.com/all-capabilities/sonoma-2511x

How many people are at Santa Rosa? What is the product line? Sorry so many sites, it's hard to keep up with all of them!

The santa Rosa site is still open right now. No plans have been shared out. Talk is that it might start next week.

Indeed, GM level in Rochester is incompetent. LHX is all about milking out the cash cows. Top leadership always looking to get some easy “wins” and jump ship to greener pastures leaving a huge tox waste dump behind them.

Look at how LHX leadership takes credit for the Delta Heavy launch that just happened, simply because they purchased Aerojet last year. Classic bull excr-ment.

@SBIR poster,

Note that tax law these days is tilted against phase 0,1, and even 2 SBIR companies as much of the work is section 174 and only some of it can be shifted away. Leads to owing ridiculous tax sums, like close to a million dollars, for a firm that could only be 10 strong. California is only slightly better in this regard, but only because its more tolerant of technically-should-be-paying-taxes startups that aren't officially incorporated yet

Severance pay details are located in the document library of the benefits website.

Are we still getting 1 week of severance per year of service or is L3Harris sc--wing us out of that too??? Is this what I get for being a faithful employee who busted my butt for many years to line upper management’s pockets. If only I could go back in time and spend more time with my family rather than this knucklehead company that is fighting to stay alive.

There sure are a lot of open reqs for Rochester employees. Im sure they will pass the savings of the new rates onto the customers.

Who wants to start a new business with an SBIR project instead of being forced to move to a frozen wasteland?

Only a few will be offered transition and obviously no one in their right mind is going to move to Rochester from wine country.

Is it true that certain engineers will be allowed to still work from home remotely after all is said and done with the move?

What about those of us close to retirement but not quite there? Now I am sure age discrimination does not exist when I go to start a new career at the age of 60. Im sure people will be very excited to hire me at my age. Thanks a bunch L3Harris.

Did someone in upper management get a bonus for coming up with hair brain idea to ruin many people’s lives. Doesn’t seem worth it to me. I hope they are happy. 😡 I also hope Karma is watching over them.

Is the L3Harris Santa Rosa location closed and to be moved or is it that they will be closing and moving over the next couple weeks? Wondering if my FOB still works?

Is it true only the few chosen will get offers to move to the frozen land of Rochester?

Some people might get offers to transfer. Few will want to move from 🍷 country to upstate NY.

Oh come on - the name of the company is L3Harris not HarrisL3. I don't think Harris or Bill Brown have destroyed much of anything over the past 2-3 years.

Despite everything L3 has accomplished, it's a damn shame Harris had to come in and destroy it all. Many lives have been destroyed by Brown and that womanizer Kubasik.

Did anyone get the opportunity to transfer to the new location? Or did they just lay everyone off?
