Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Medicare employees

How many Medicare employees are applying to other positions? I, myself, feel so torn between leaving and staying. I wish we had the guarantee in writing if we were to stay and move with HCSC.

I have the same question about matrix partners. Looking in WorkDay, a lot of MA Operations and Technology do not report under DeRosa. Are all those teams considered matrix partners?

I keep hearing about matrix partners. In the townhall yesterday, they said that the Matrix partners who are transitioning to HCSC would be notified by the end of this month. However, I am new to Cigna, can someone care to explain who are Matrix Partners? Do Software Engineers come under Matrix Partners?

The initial announcement was not very clear. However, they did state everyone in MA who reports under DeRosa will transition. They also said they would let matrix partners know later.

That someone got translated into they will let everyone know soon who is transitioning and who isn’t. SMH 🤦‍♀️

Myself and other band 3, 4, & 2 received it as well as our management. It went out to everyone in MA & Careallies under DeRosa. They are identifying matrix partners who will transition as well.

Transition emails went out to everyone who is moving over under the MA business unit. Matrix partners are still TBD.

If you got an email you are moving over. They went out mid March

When were the transitioning emails sent out? Were they generic or employee specific?

Did anyone from CSB receive email to transition to HCSC?
What Bands in MA have received such emails?
I am not hearing anyone in my team who has received email that their role has transitioned to HCSC.

If you received the email, you are moving over. The thing you need to be more concerned about is the pay and benefits at HCSC one year after the move. You also won’t be able to move into a different job role (advance) unless you want to relocate near one of their offices.

Anyone in this situation and not at least refreshing their resume and feeling out the market is a fool.

I meant the guarantee of what happens after the move to HCSC

Only those in MA that received the email are moving. If anyone hasn't received the email, there's a possibility that those are still moving but it's not guranteed

THE ONLY thing still keeping me here at Cigna, the the ability to still continue to work from home. Despite FOW assigning me an office, I am still remote on an "interim basis". Now that we are being sold to HCSC and they have no footprint in my local area, I am hopeful I can continue to WFH. Once that flexibility goes away, I might as well look for a local hybrid job that pays more. I have already updated my resume and got references lined up just in case.

Emails went out confirming who would be going over to HCSC.

The message within the email was pretty blunt about the confirmation of who is transitioning.

You are not alone, I feel the same way and most everyone I know does as well. I can honestly say- I’d had a great experience at Cigna (until RTO & news of the acquisition) and love all of our managers and my team, but I’ve been laid off before and it’s the last thing I want to go through! When all this started, I did my due diligence and updated my resume, started taking courses, and stopped ignoring recruiter emails I receive. The trend I’m seeing is a lot of contract work which I’ve done and don’t ever plan to do again- too stressful with unknowns. I’ve worked my tail off during my time here and always worked late and over 40hrs….until RTO. I always went above & beyond because I felt grateful to be able to WFH. Now, I just feel bitter because of how they handled it by only forcing some back, and not all. So you are not alone and it’s like- do I stay or do I go? What if the deal falls through? What if it doesn’t, will they lay more of us off? This is our livelihood and we are all clueless as to how it will go. I’m rooting for you all and hope everyone lands on their feet!
