ESI employee here. Just saw Crowdstrike was added to my WFH device as of today. What exactly is it because Google results don't tell me a lot and manager is just saying "oh it's just an IT security thing!"

CrowdStrike is a cybersecurity technology company that provides cloud-delivered solutions for endpoint protection, threat intelligence, and cyberattack response services. Founded in 2011, the company is well-known for its Falcon platform, which uses advanced algorithms and machine learning to detect, prevent, and respond to cyber threats in real-time. The platform is designed to protect against malware, ransomware, and other types of cyberattacks across a wide range of endpoints, including laptops, mobile devices, and servers, both on-premises and in the cloud. One of CrowdStrike's key features is its use of a lightweight agent that runs on client devices, gathering and analyzing threat data from across its customer base. This approach allows CrowdStrike to offer real-time protection and threat intelligence that improves as more data is collected. The company serves a wide range of industries and has become a critical player in the cybersecurity space, known for its innovation and effectiveness in defending against modern cyber threats.
It monitors internet traffic to make sure that no defined threats (viruses, malware, weird .exes) hit Cigna’s network endpoints. It is not monitoring what you are actually doing, they have different software for that. However, you might have Verint or another agent installed. My advice is don’t do anything but work on your machine. If you need to do something else use your phone or personal device.
Seems like a cyber security application. My guess is they increasing their cyber security due to the CHC breach.
