AIP Layoffs - 4/1

Be ready...more layoffs coming to AIP next week!!!

People/teams in Growth (Marketing and Creative) are going to be hit hard. Word is that Tech and Finance could be included too! Invites from managers have already begun to be sent out for the week of 4/1.

Marketing team has already received these invites under the guise of "more facetime with the Growth leader." Nah fam, this is bad news bears. The Growth leader has been doing this since she forced her way into her position and demanded her seat at the table. She has "reorganized/realigned" the org 3 times since being put into power, boasting about how much shes saved while affecting people's lives. Watch out!

Meanwhile, Tech is long overdue for cuts, no one addressed how overstaffed the team is since Optimus "finished." The new CIO has had time to make her reviews & assess the team..now she'll make her cuts.

You'll start to see more people we work with mysteriously disappearing. They did 2 big layoffs last year which affected a lot of great people and they've already forced several people out the door this year.

If you get a random meeting invite on your calendar from your manager or Sr. Manager for the week of 4/1, be prepared!

Oh, and please remember that HR is not your friend. No one on that team is. They are there to protect the company and to make sure you don't cause a scene. Don't say sh*t to them.

Marketing and distribution will be hit this year. Last year it was claims. This all has to do with redundant employees at Natgen and Allstate as they complete the merging into one global corporation.

An office is closing? We don't know if we're going to be laid off? The answer is that if poster will not name the office its not closing. And almost no one knows that they will be laid off until it happens. Nothing but gossip.

Which office is set to close???

Well you weren’t wrong. There is one office that is going away entirely from what we were told today and no one knows if our group is going to be laid off or moved to a different department.

To the contributor talking of fake news - the vast majority of posts on Allstate over the past year have been correct. You seem irate that not only did lay offs not happen, but they didn’t happen in a timeframe that suited you.

Have a long hard look at yourself!

OK, it's April Fool's Day. This company is in business to make money, not to be concerned with how its looks to the online haters. Let's see who'll be the fool today.

AIP= Allstate Identity Protection

Creative and Marketing are just the start. I'm surprised we've held on to so many in Tech until now. Product was gutted and keeps getting moved. They are the glorified hot potato of the company.

When does everyone else get impacted? Any word on when they force us over to Allstate everything?

Aren't we supposed to get moved from ADP to Work day?

How long will it be before all customer service and claims (except the litigation and CAT team) get replaced by the Allstate India team? Please please put us down like one of Glen’s sick puppies and get it over with! Everyone here is miserable.

Spot on - HR is not there to protect you; they are there to protect the company!

If you think you will be impacted, you likely will--and it is better to be mentally prepared for any conversation with management - they will have a prepared speech and will not deviate from it, so just take notes. Look for managers/leaders acting odder/distant/more out of the loop than usual. If you are making more than your peers/with company many years/in your 50s-60s...you may among the first to go. Either way, it's always good to have an exit plan ready: brush up your resume, start reaching out to your network, apply for new roles, shore up your emergency fund, save even more money in advance to weather whatever storm may (or may not) be coming. If the storm comes, be ready for the rain and in the end, it could present better opportunities. Good luck, everyone!
