Thread regarding ViaSat Inc. layoffs

It's going to be an interesting next few months

After seeing a few new hires with "Compensation Partner" as their job title on top of the surge of contractors in India, I think it's safe to say the company is on its way to the California tech company graveyard. For anyone who's been paying attention to the industry the last five years, this is standard practice in order to gut any value out of what's left of the company in order to give shareholders a buffer and execs enough time to retire comfortably before things collapse.

Many workers from home actually do work. Those who milk the system should, indeed, be thanked for their service asap.

lol, did you just make a post during work hours to say that people wfh will be more productive if they work like you?

We need another RIF to get rid of the the last of folks that “work from home”
More folks at campus will increase our productivity.
Ever since Covid and wfh phase…. ViaSat has been underwhelming cause these wfh troopers waste 80% their time until a deadline approaching, then they crash and burn. They barely make the deadline and the product is poor.

Already interviewing for other wfh , granted it’s hybrid… but hey,
Milking the system as much as I can at the moment. I work like 20% of the time ,
Not surprisingly I barely make my deadlines lol

On the one hand, you have the gigachad in-security guards trolling and reminding us who does real work around here (no real work is ever done remotely apparently. for example, all the worthless emails that Guru writes), and on the other hand you have another group of people, I don't know who, but probably the same group who will show up in your layoff meeting, cheering us on to work harder and faster to fill in for the people they just laid off with the now immortal words:

A runner can trip and fall and still get back up to win a race! (ps. don't quit until we fire you)

Please clap. That's a mic dropping quote right there. Perfection can't be improved, so I guess no one can come up with anything better to say on here. But it's been repeated so much now it's lost it's meaning. People and Culture, if you're not going to do any real work (remember, gigachad said that WFH doesn't count you lazy whiners!), can please we have a new inspirational quote once in a while?

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush!
Measure once, cut twice! (nope, didn't get that order wrong. i counted two satellite failures.)
Sun Tzu once said, "He will win who knows when to fight and when not to fight"! Starlink's infinite money ain't got nothing on us when you're f****n' Sun Tzu! Whoosh whoosh whoosh, disruptive innovation.

I need MORE!

By the way, those who do real work in Comm Air know that it's a total sh-tshow right now and severely undermanned. Just keep focusing on the business contracts you're winning and ignore all the fires burning and alarms blaring behind you.

Remember folks, a runner can trip and fall and still get back up to win a race!
Did you forget? A runner can trip and fall and still get back up to win a race!
A runner can trip and fall and still get back up to win a race!

If you're having a bad day, remember! A runner can trip and fall and still get back up to win a race!

VSAT stock is plummeting?
A runner can trip and fall and still get back up to win a race!

Don't forget!
A runner can trip and fall and still get back up to win a race!
A runner can trip and fall and still get back up to win a race!

(hyperventilates into paper bag)
A runner can trip and fall and still get back up to win a race!!!

P.S. A reminder from an older thread:

"Friendly FYI. Posts like this are from online trolls who jump to company pages after layoffs are publicly announced and try to get a reaction out of people. They don’t work at the company, barely know anything about it really, and are usually unemployable people who are venting their frustration at others.

Don’t be insulted - you can’t be insulted from these no lives.'"

P.S.S. A runner can trip and fall and still get back up to win a race.

You people are sad and pathetic. If ViaSat is doing so bad, then why did Korean Air selected Viasat to provide in-flight connectivity on 40 additional aircraft, Icelandair selected Viasat’s in-flight Wi-Fi solution for its new fleet of Airbus Aircraft, and Royal Jordanian Airlines plans to equip more than 40 aircraft with Viasat’s connectivity system? Sounds money to me. You all are just but hurt because you got let go for not bring value to this amazing company.

Just because you crossed the line ahead of the other person doesn't mean you won. It means they lapped you.

Y’all are a much of lazy whiners, who probably did the bare minimum of work. There was a reason for these layoffs and that was to get rid of the cancer that was ki-ling the company. Y'all probably just sat at your desk watching movies all day instead of doing your job , especially if you wfh, Viasat took notice and finally took action that was long overdue. Viasat will now thrive and be right on top once more.

"What kind of psychological issues does this person have?"

Getting layed off will certainly cure the one under discussion.

Quit b****ing….. if you guys are going to complain…. Do us all a favor and just quit…. We don’t need your waste of space. Just watch, ViaSat will raise to the top and you people who keep crying are gonna cry some more over your d-mb decision making.

We are fine, with the established contracts that Viasat acquired from the Inmarsat acquisition, and when VS3 flight 2 is launched and bringing in revenue, Viasat will catch-up. A runner can trip and fall and still get back up to win a race.

For the uninitiated, what does this mean? Selloff of portions of the company? Mass layoffs? All of the above?

Compensation partner...somebody to do an "unbiased" study to increase the salary of executives. The stock options have lost their luster. We need to up that bonus from 100% to 300%.
