Thread regarding HCSC (Health Care Service Corporation) layoffs

Salaries

People who are moving from Cigna have been told that their salary will be no less than it has been at least for a year. I think our salaries will drop after that time.

In various roles, can you provide around about of what can be expected? Ranges?

So for a claims analyst, customer service rep., nurse case manager, social worker, auditor, and so on?

As a Cigna employee, you would be surprised how many employees have Masters degrees. Sure, claims and customer service do not, but I highly doubt at HCSC the educational background is much different in these areas. There are many MSNs, MSWs and MBAs.

HCSC likes degrees above BA/BS. Many at Cigna are coming in based on skillsets, not Masters :/, so hopefully they'll honor experience as an equivalent for similar pay.

My guess is HCSC would have to see a significant discrepancy in order to change it. I don't think they want a mass exodus of Cigna MA employees. There will be a lot of work to do during transition, especially.

It would be almost impossible to get that level if info in this post as salaries depend on so many factors including experience, geography, demand, gender (yes it’s true), negotiation ability etc, level of the role especially for all the roles you list. I have found in my role which isn’t one you list I get paid comparable to competitors based on interviews and job offers.

An entry level claims or customer service role starts around $17-20 per hour, and can vary a bit by location. The thing to keep in mind is most salary ranges are very large. So the minimum is usually not great. The maximum is usually decent, but don't expect to get there quickly. Annual raises tend to be quite small.

Search on Glassdoor. I am a Cigna employee and looked up what HCSC employees report making on Glassdoor For my role, HCSC employees reported that they get paid on average 15K more with better bonuses than what Cigna pays me today. I hear some people say Cigna pays well, but I don't think that's the case for many people. Most people I know at Cigna including myself are underpaid but continue to work at Cigna due to it being "remote". I was ready to jump ship at Cigna decided to make everyone return to the office (despite being hired remote). I am assigned a Cigna office location but told to continue to work from home on an interim basis, now we are being sold to HCSC so who know what will happen.
