I’ve been here 5 years. Every single application I have put on for a position outside of my department has been denied. I haven’t even made it to the office interview stage. They talk all this cr-p wanting to keep talent in house. Rarely happens. It’s time for me to get serious about looking elsewhere.

Let me save you some trouble: look externally for advancement. Centene is a dead end company and only recommended to build an entry level resume, if that. You’ll either go through rounds and round of interviews and then ghosted or have to wait 5+ years to even sniff an interview.
I’ve been interviewing internally lately and made it to the end for one to get picked by someone externally. I was more than qualified for the role. Not sure how much DEI plays into that final decision but I would definitely not be considered favorable if it is a high factor.
Don’t wait for someone to promote you. Just leave or move and make your own way. It’s faster and more direct.
It took me 8 1/2 years to be promoted to UM PA Clinical Supervisor only to be cut in Oct 2023. I was chosen over another employee that was told by a Manager to a Senior Nurse I promise I will promote you as soon as another Supervisor position opens up and sure enough when the position opened up the Senior Nurse rolled into her new role all comfy and cozy. My job was eliminated and the Director listened to the Manager and I was cut and she still has her Supervisor role in Shared Services UM.
Yeah it’s definitely a song and dance. I’m tired of the constant lies.
Same...but I have already been looking for over a year. Lots of ghosting and rejections. With all the layoff here and at all the other HCMCs there are alot of people applying or trying to get out of the other companies that are doing the exact same song and dance to their employees.
