I received a job offer and the third party can't get the employment verified. the 800 number is no longer working, and they emailed payroll.assistance@exxonmobil.com and didn't get back from this email.

Same, I showed my W2. They wanted my W2 from my first year with the company, and I said "are you kidding me, that was 15 years ago?". I lucked out and found my W2 from my second year with the company, which they begrudgingly accepted.
The company I went to gave up on trying to contact XOM after not being able to find a human to talk to. Fortunately, they accepted my word and a W2.
Try: goto/eda, pay information, employment verification
W2 should suffice.

You have to do it online on intranet. It created a ticket and took like 3 days to generate. Search intranet.
The background company did called the 800 number, which is not in service now. the background company asks me to wither provide W-2 or provide alternative contact they can verify employment. I don't know what is the new contact info for employment verification.
