Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Managers

Why do the "New" managers talk down to the working associates when they don't have the guts to say anything to the lazy workers or the ones that call off. I've been at Sam's for 14 yrs and these "Kids" running the clubs are horable, I wish the Market would keep a better eye on how much they acually do anything, most sit and play in their phones. Instead of a company policy their should be a common sense policy.

"Take it up with Team Lead in a civilized, well thought-out conversation. Always remember to escalate in steps. Never go straight to the Club Manager"

That's a lot of bull advice. Our team lead hid for the last thirty minutes of her shift yesterday so she didn't have to give the cafe associate a fifteen-minute break. That's just one example of what she does daily. No one has ever had a conversation with her that resulted in changes. We talk about how bad she is all the time. If you need her, you have to search for her and no doubt, you'll find her outside smoking. She'll stand there and shake her head, and then nothing. The problems are never resolved.

I know what you mean. Strangely, ages high and low in an area means you will get coverage most of the time. The older ones show up, they're pretty consistent, have work ethic, etc. The younger kids often make life miserable for the older ones. No explanation will be mentioned. Good Management should not hold consistent workers accountable for the poor work of unreliable phone watchers. Take it up with Team Lead in a civilized, well thought-out conversation. Always remember to escalate in steps. Never go straight to the Club Manager.
