I quit a couple years ago and came back as a contractor for a second job. I have done pretty much zero work in the past 6 months and just kept submitting timesheets.
While I didn't really do anything, I at least have maybe a dozen total hours spent catching up with some people I used to work with (the few that are still around, anyway) and providing my old domain expertise to help a handful of people. It's been fun. Free money.
Alas, the time has come for me to separate again. Thanks for the $60k. Best of luck to you all (lol).
