Thread regarding Lumen Technologies layoffs

Wasteful

I truly do not understand Lumens thought process. Company seems not to be doing well, however employees are seeing a lot of waste. Top of the list would be Dare to lead. We have sold a lot of properties worth millions, where did that money go. Then we are hearing more millions on products to track tech when there are things already in place. Seems to be wasteful

Idling their vehicles when not in use.
Turn in overtime without justification.

You can literally point out with a laser pointer how many of the ideas tossed out there by low skilled managers and directors and VPs, are just very stoopid ideas that should not be attempted along with 5000 reasons why it's a stoopid idea, yet they'll do it anyways. The market data will say go left and these Lumen people will literally go right. If the company really wants to freshen-up itself, start by unloading the over abundance of overpaid managers directors and VPs.

Taking things home.

I can go on and on.”

Please do go on and on. Tell us how a vehicle idles if it’s not in use? Never mind, I know what you’re referring to. But also tell us how long your a-s is idled in that temperature controlled office you sit in? Bet it’s not 15 or 115 degrees in there? So techs are taking tools home and you have proof? I guess that makes you an accomplice. Falsifying time sheets by taking overtime pay? How’s that work with the past 4 years of mandatory ot? Playing hooky? Like taking a day off once in awhile? I wonder why no managers answer their phones after 2 pm or on the weekends. Ya know, when techs are working. Sounds to me like the company needs to replace a failing manager. Ok, most of them.

Too much overhead. No money left once it reaches the actual work to be performed.

Seriously, some of y'all need to go back to elementary school and learn to write in English. So many run-on sentences and text that make no sense even after re-reading multiple times. No wonder LUMN is failing with so many employees who can't communicate

Dear Kate Johnson
I dedicated 22 years to Level3 (Lumen) and the number one problem is the Management and your advisors (Yearly Bonuses)
Leave you office and come out to the field to see it for yourself the waste of money.
You need to be surrounded by advisors and management that care more about the firm, no their bonuses.

It is evident that the primary focus of management appears to be solely centered around their own bonuses, rather than the long-term success and viability of the company. This short-sighted approach not only undermines the morale of hardworking employees but also jeopardizes the future growth and stability of our organization.

Furthermore, I am deeply troubled by the lack of foresight and planning demonstrated by certain individuals within the recruitment process. It is unacceptable to hire personnel for critical roles, such as those in the tech field, without the necessary experience or expertise. This not only compromises the quality of work but also reflects poorly on the company as a whole

Having been a dedicated member of this company since 2000, I have had the opportunity to witness firsthand the alarming waste of money that occurs on a regular basis, particularly at various field sites. As a technician, it is disheartening to see valuable resources being squandered without any regard for efficiency or sustainability.

Where did the money go?
Well, Kate has an addiction to huffing. So, I would guess spray paint and paper bags. Just my thoughts.

I used to work for the old legacy Qwest, then Centurylink, Lumen ( just plain Level3)
I left the company, management don’t care about the employees or to save money. Level3 Aka Lumen doesn’t care about consolidating all the different legacies to save money.
All management is Level 3 aka the McDonalds of Telecommunications .
The boat is sinking!!

Technicians get away with it because management has been reduced to people who've never done the job before and don't know what is expected of their workers. It's an absolute free for all, there's no direction. All of the old heads who knew how to operate a utility are gone.
