Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

When will the Rebrand Launch?

I had anticipated that it would have been released on Feb 14th to distract from the Big Elephant in the room reminder of the bankruptcy con.

Can't imagine we can afford to still operate under the "Avaya" brand much longer. We are bleeding.

"but cash flow is ultimately going to be the death nail" ???!

The cash flows only one direction now. To Apollo Global. Once it becomes an issue is when they exit. Accelerating that date is in Alan et al favor. The quicker they can take ownership away from Apollo, the sooner they can then build. It is just an added bonus that they will get it for cheaper than the loans Apollo/Brigade bought into to take over ownership post Chapter11.

This is a race. But not the race most of you believe it to be. A race to the bottom in order to transition ownership as quickly as possible. The longer the cash flow is enough for Apollo to hang on, the more distant Alan's plan becomes reality. Less cash flow accelerates his possiblity of taking ownership control.

Irony is thick.

Isn't it "Muphry's Law"????

I see deliberate sarcasm and snarky slang, but aside from that, what am I missing?

The message may be a little too "know-it-all" - ish, but it does sound logical. While it is defeating to read, I do understand that is likely the most practical path for Avaya.
(Albeit for the grammatical errors I can't locate).

A variant of Murphy's Law states that "those who correct others' grammar will invariably commit a howler themselves in so doing".

See below for proof.

And blame Murphy for the split infinitive.

Yes, he may be (not maybe) a smart guy. I'd actually more appropriately use the phrase a "not not smart guy".
But few understand the reality of how near impossible it is to begin a net new global organization. Set aside any measure of success for the moment. The basic tools needed to begin net new.

Look at OpenAI. Microsoft invested heavily for a market share hail Mary to be able to have a dog in the AI race. However, from a market opportunity and logic perspective, one would believe OpenAI wouldn't need MSFT money. However...they did need the capital. So on and so on.

Avaya bare bones is still better than anything anyone could create from the ground up nowadays. Regardless of Avayas apparent failures.

Avaya will be rebranded.
Avaya will not be a CCaaS company.

Alan maybe a smart dude, but he has outdone himself this time. He may relaunch, but cash flow is ultimately going to be the death nail. The Government contracts will only be patient for so long. Once they go, Avaya will look like RIM chasing the new players and constantly fouling up. Look at the number of times the cloud products have been reworked. Looking at the higher ups shown the door, the new CTO is getting ready to rework it all over again.

A new brand will need time for brand awareness, the existing brand is known to be tainted. The catch 22 he will be in. I am honestly very intrigued to see how it plays out, after a 150 years of doing business in various guises.

There is zero desire to remain Avaya. CCaaS is a dead industry. The 'model" of an end to end solution has never been realized and outside of large BPOs has never happened (not to mention a avaya doesn't make profit off of large BPOs). Anyone with a willingness to look at the facts knows this.

As such, Avaya has employed acolytes exclusively for the last decade, & very unfortunately that became obvious to outsiders the moment they created the evangelical communications strategy around 2020.

AM is one smart dude. He knows it's easier to begin a new company by borrowing from an old company. He will use what is left as a springboard to enter a new space and create new solutions. That is the only path forward.

Too late. Should’ve been done prior to existing Chapter 22. Doing it now is putting lipstick on a pig and saying pig is different.
