Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Is Cigna on a hiring freeze? Or are the internal/external roles just getting picked up quickly?

With all this talk about layoffs, is Cigna technically on a hiring freeze? I have seen a few roles posted externally for the past few weeks and now it is instead internal only. I was curious if maybe they just didn’t find qualified staff or if it’s a sign of the times.

I know it is a turbulent time but I want to switch teams. Funnily enough the roles have been dropping what feels like daily so I don’t know if they are cleaning up the job board or what is going on.

This is pretty typical for Q1 business everywhere. They figure out the budget they’re spending on bonuses and raises. Then I’m sure some people will be let go during reviews if they’re on a failed PIP. Some will resign because of their lack of anticipated raise/ bonus. Then Q2 the hiring usually starts. So I would say mid March to April is when hiring will start happening again.

I was told that’s it’s a heavy frost instead of a freeze. Only vital roles will be filled.

Things will probably start going back to normal around June.
