Thread regarding Anthem Inc. layoffs

To those Rif'ed, but qualified for retirement...

If you're eligible for the unemployment benefit after the severance ends, how does that work.?

Or anyone who has applied for unemployment. What proof do you provide as far as looking for jobs ?

Just looking for your experience.
Thank you

I was Rif’ed back in 09/2022 after 25 years and yes I was at Retirement age at the time so with that being here are the things you are eligible for:

  1. 6 Months severance pay and you are not required to attest that you are looking for jobs
  1. After your severance runs out, you can apply for Unemployment Online and I believe it is still for another 6 months. The process is very simple and all you have to do is answer a few questions online stating that you are still looking for jobs and NO, you won’t have to prove that you are actually looking for jobs .. at least this is how it was in California.

Hope this helps ….

Another thing .. if you are planning to still look for another job .. I would just suggest you do it after you have exhausted your severance and unemployment payments 😊
