Hilarious that people give lipservice to customer retention. For more than 50 years, my folks have been Allstate customers. No claims and Allstate has decided it won't renew their home policy. Happiliy saving money taking my business elsewhere

1eah Maybe if OP provided a little detail as to the location or even the reason for the non-renewal a better assessment and opinion could be made. Instead OP decides to put out vague incomplete information as a way for a cheap bash. I am no cheerleader and feel this company is a lost cause but let's paint a clearer picture of such grievances if we are going to post.
Dear Tommy and cheerleaders: At least try to keep up: OP didn’t state the parents had the same dwelling for 50 years. They may well have but many/most people often move within 50 years. Don’t assume before opining.
PS: Allstate pulled back on coverage in fire- and flood-prone areas (eg, California, Louisiana and Florida), so it does initiate non-renewals or “pauses” in particular states or areas, not necessarily because of particular home defects.
Nothing to see here- move along
If the home is over 50 years old it likely something failed on a vendor renewal inspection. Resolving this issue would reverse the non-renewal. Likely the same issue is going to manifest itself with any new home carrier if not at new business at the first renewal most likely.
Allstate does not just non renew a home policy. Your 30-year-old roof or the $10k tree removal will come up in the next company inspection. Non renewals are NOT arbitrary.
