Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Intel Lost 2-3 years ago

I remember around 2-3 years ago everyone was complaining about low compression at intel. Other companies like AMD, Qualcomm, Samsung used the opportunity to hire intel top talent. Even in some areas which they don’t have a presence, they opened an office. Now Qualcomm is going to have an AI PC stronger than meteor Lake which will challenge Intels position in PV market. Qualcomm was able to achieve this only in 3 years with attracting talent. Again intel repeating the same mistake. No one wants work in this company and employees are extremely unhappy about compensation. One thing for sure, intel leaders never learn

Intel tried to play catchup with mobile phone trend after that by creating a microsuck mobile phone with Microsoft to compete with Apple phone and Android phone. They failed to launch and nobody sees it on the market. Intel did try and failed so Microsoft doesn't have any mobile phone too.

@2zov+1r4gAOpy …they didn’t just “miss” it, they actually turned it down , said NO THANKS, it will never catch on . Had Intel invented the wheel, we’d still be using it to roll boulders uphill!

Intel lost circa 2006-2007 when they missed the mobile phone mega trend.

It’s been a slow bleed since then.

No growth means RSUs aren’t competitive with the competition.

No growth means a fixed compensation pie must get divided in a zero sum game. Those with tenure get first dibs meaning low quality new hires that won’t accept the comp.

No growth means stagnant culture and resistance to change.

It’s a loser company.
Go find growth elsewhere.

What can I say
We have two NCG engineers hired based on DEI, though we have better other candidates HR won't agree with. Basically they don't have any project as they're not in the right skill set. What's even more ridiculous is, one engineer stays in Vietnam and work from there with Zone-1 pay, another stays in India with Zone-1 pay as well.
