And yet only one or two upper mgmt in mortgage laid off in all five lay offs. How does USB keep paying those big salaries and bonuses?

It was a big one. Between 220 and 240 total in operations and equated to a roughly 25% reduction across the department. Reason given was interest rates expected to remain in the 6% range through 2024 coupled with a continuation of the severe housing inventory shortage that is severely hampering business. It was the 5th round layoffs since Spring 2022.

A friend who was part of the lay off said their team of 20 was let go. Last day is 3/22.
Said the person leading the call was upfront and advised the jobs were moved to the Philippines.

They lay people off for Christmas so why are you so surprised it’s on Valentines Day? They have no empathy and they do not care about you.
