Laid off in Quarter two of 2023. Got my year severance in July. Took six months off and now have a fully remote position. Things are much better than USAA to say the least.

Pretty good. I look at myself a couple years ago when still working at usaa (I left in 2023) and realized I escaped a cult!

I talk to my old teammates and they sound like they have Stockholm syndrome and always ask me if I regret leaving ....and the answer is still no.

If you're a current employee and thinking about leaving but are afraid due to all those comments people give you about "the grass isn't always greener on the other side".....not always but the green of more dollars is better than the green of any type of grass!

USAA gets away with paying people less by driving loyalty into you

Desperately been seeking a new job. That says it all from a tired and tenured employee

I quit in 2022 so it’s going great. Took a year off, found a great job with a company that actually understands regulations and doesn’t want to break the law. So refreshing…oh and I got the same salary as an individual contributor versus a micro managed Director.

OP here, NGL it was a huge letdown working there. I lasted about 2 years and was so excited when I first got hired. My excitement faded fast and by the end of the first year I was miserable. The 4 day in office mandate of course didnt help but really the pi-s poor management from the top down was eye opening. Hope the company can get back to its former glory but to me and alot of others their reputation in financial services as both a customer and employee is god awful.

Years ago USAA actually took pride in having military veterans at it's core of leadership. With the likes of the extreme overlord regime under the Peacock and now with his executioner Amala at the helm they no longer care to look for veteran leadership. Just look at every one Amala has brought in over the last year to lead the IT department? You'll start realizing real quick the priority of the company no longer is to be there for the Military member or their family let alone Veterans. For the record, I'm a former employee. I got out because I realized that the discrimination against me and the career opportunities were no longer available under Amala's dictatorship regime. If given the opportunity take a severance and bounce. The golden handcuffs no longer should be a factor. USAA explains less pay under the muse that they give out a big bonus, however that bonus is held hostage by the poor decisions under the Peacock and his staff. There is to much rot at the top to recover any time soon and it's only going to continue to get better.

"we need diversity of thought" LOL
It's true, but for the opposite reason that the video insinuates. USAA HR is a radical left wing groupthink brainwashing machine that works to eradicate diversity of thought from all USAA employees. So yes, they NEED diversity of thought - but only because USAA leadership hates it so much.

Look at the huge new hire classes. All those people laid off last year and they are hiring!
